LIVE PAINTING: WEDDINGS

A UNIQUE WAY TO CAPTURE YOUR DAY

WHAT AND WHY?

As an abstract artist, the painting I provide captures the essence of the night. I leave the realistic representations to the photographers, and I get the privilege of capturing the liveliness, excitement, and mood. Since images of the attendees and event will be captured through photographs, the painting I provide would be a separate, personalized way to capture the fun, love, and emotion that comes out during the event. My work for all live paintings follows suit with my other work, and I encourage you to check out my work in the gallery here.

Weddings are a very fun place for an abstract live artist to be present. The reception is the most typical time during the event to have an abstract painter. If requested, I can also include excerpts from your vows into the painting at no extra cost, as my work includes illegible text for each piece. I'm happy to work with the wedding colors to create a customized piece that will be reminiscent of your day.

  • Entertain guests with active visuals

  • Enjoy the creative process from start to finish

  • Supplement other performers for visual impact

  • End the event with a unique abstract keepsake

PRICING + BOOKING

My general rate for live painting starts at $200/hr with a 1.5 hour minimum painting time commitment (up to 4 hours), plus tax. If travel outside of Dane County WI is required, there is a $0.70/mile standard mileage fee plus $15/hour driving time. Anything in Dane County doesn't require travel expenses. The pricing listed includes the completed personalized abstract painting, which would be finished by the end of the allotted time. That way you can have it right away after your reception. For reference, 2-3 hours is generally a popular amount of time, but it's completely up to you on what your needs are. I always include illegible text in my work, so if requested, I can also include vows to make it extra personal (no charge for that).

If you choose to hire me as your event artist, I will provide a short contract stating so. I request a 50% deposit for retention, and the full amount by the day of the event. If the event needs to be canceled or rescheduled to a date I'm not available, anything paid in advance (minus the deposit) will be refunded to you. In the unlikely event that I would have to cancel my appearance, only 50% of your deposit would be retained. That covers the cost of materials specific to your event.

FAQ

  • Yes. Your venue may ask for a standard $1,000,000 policy with them listed as the other insured party. If hired for your event, please be sure to let me know the venue’s stipulations. Please always let the venue know of an added vendor, so all insurance considerations can be made.

  • The reception is the most common part of the event to have a live painter. This allows time and space for attendees to watch, ask questions, and enjoy the process. Please feel free to discuss your event with me, and we can come up with a plan on what works for you.

  • Yes! I can create additional paintings ahead of the event for your wedding party. They will be one-of-a-kind but can follow a common theme or color scheme as requested to be relative to the couple’s finished painting.

  • 100% always yes! I love love in all ways, shapes, and forms. I’m honored to be a part of any loving couple’s special day.

  • That is up to you! It is important to remember that the couple may have very specific plans that they don’t want altered. However, having a live painter can certainly be a pleasant and welcome surprise! Please be sure that a live painter is NOT a surprise to the venue. Make sure the venue is aware of an added vendor for insurance purposes.
