Some of us spend so much of our lives learning to be quiet that we forget what it feels like to make some noise.
I created My Hammering Heart while reflecting on what it means to find your voice, trust your instincts, and give yourself permission to live and love without holding back.
There's something freeing about finally listening to that heart beating inside you. The one that's been trying to tell you who you are all along. The one that wants you to speak up, take chances, express yourself, and stop apologizing for being exactly who you are.
It isn't always easy to unlearn the things that taught us to stay small. But there's a beautiful kind of rebellion in deciding that your feelings matter, your voice deserves to be heard, and your life is yours to live.
I painted this piece live, in front of an audience, which feels especially fitting. Creating art in that space was its own act of following my hammering heart… allowing myself to be seen, to take up space, and to express myself without holding back.
My Hammering Heart is about following that rhythm wherever it leads. Living loudly, loving deeply, and trusting yourself enough to let your heart make a little noise. Your heart deserves to be heard.
